SD20 Photo Tribute

WSOR 2054’s Last Day In Service
On the MAJ (Madison-Janesville) train, WSOR 2054’s last revenue trip was made the morning of October 20, 2007 after working in the Madison area for several days. Upon arrival at Janesville, the J2 crew used 2054 for a few switching moves in the east yard and to pull cars off the Union Pacific interchange track near 5-points. The engine's final move was to the coach yard for storage until shipment off the property to her new owners. These photos show those last moves, made under the command of Conductor Mike Farrell and Engineer Bryan Miller. Photos by Paul Swanson.

WSOR 2051’s Last Evening
On January 22, 2008, the last SD20 in service—2051—made its final trip from Madison to Janesville. After arrival, it was moved over to the Janesville roundhouse for cleaning and then was drained and moved to the old coach yard a few days later for storage until sold. These photos were taken as 2051 idled outside the roundhouse in its final hours under sub-zero weather, waiting to be moved inside the roundhouse for cleaning the next day.
