  Freight Services The Wisconsin & Southern Railroad (WSOR) provides direct access for shippers via the Chicago, IL gateway connecting with all major railroads via the Belt Railway of Chicago, Burlington Northern Santa Fe at Prairie Du Chien, WI, and Union Pacific, IC&E, Canadian Pacific, and Canadian National (Wisconsin Central) at various points on the system. Access to barge facilities for bulk commodities on the Mississippi River is available at Prairie Du Chien. WSOR has rail-to-truck transloading facilities at Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Janesville, and Madison, WI. WSOR transports the following commodities: corn and grain, coal, canned goods, lumber, paper, fertilizer, aggregate, ethanol, plastic, gasoline, sugar, pulpboard, metal scrap, auto parts, military vehicles, lube oil and steel. WSOR maintains a fleet of company-owned freight cars that are available for customer shipping. Our cars include: Box Cars, Insulated Box Cars (RBL’s), Open Top Hoppers, and Covered Hoppers. We can also work to secure cars from other railroads to meet your shipping needs. The WSOR is headquartered in Milwaukee, WI.
