WSOR Unveils Special Boxcar To Promote the Fight Against Cancer

Horicon, WI – WSOR President & CEO William Gardner is a supporter in the fight against cancer, losing his wife Lucy Stone-Gardner to cancer in December 2004. Mr. Gardner chose a Wisconsin & Southern RBL boxcar to be painted in a special pink color scheme with ribbon in order to heighten awareness and support for the fight against cancer. The car was painted in Wisconsin & Southern's Horicon paint shop and released in early December 2007. It will travel throughout the U.S. in general freight service, seen by millions of people trackside to help keep the fight against cancer alive.

Wisconsin & Southern’s state-of-the-art Paint Shop was built at Horicon in 1994 to offer painting and refinishing services including reconditioning of locomotive cabs, engine compartments, and car bodies, along with refinishing all types of freight cars. The shop has repainted cars and locomotives for dozens of railroads across the United States.
