In a continuing effort to help provide the very best service to its customers, WSOR has contracted with E-80 Plus Constructors, a railroad bridge contractor located in DeForest, WI, to perform a total replacement of the tie decking, walkway replacement, and repairs on the Bearing Stone foundations on bridges 1070 and 1071, located at milepost 20.14 on the Waukesha Sub, at Waukesha, Wisconsin.

E-80 Plus Constructors was mobilized onto WSOR territory in November 2005 to commence work on several projects affecting the Waukesha Subdivision. E-80 utilized one crew to perform the two projects and moved from one project to the next as they were completed.

E-80 utilized a contractual ten-hour work window for repairs to structures 1070 & 1071 at Waukesha, beginning at approximately 0700 hrs after the passage of the westbound HJ train and clearing at approximately 1700 hrs so that the eastbound JH could pass through. E-80 arranged for a longer work window through coordination with the WSOR dispatcher on days trains did not operate.

E-80 contacted the WSOR Roadmaster prior to beginning work on the Waukesha structure and for briefing for On-Track Safety. E-80 utilized red flags, derails, and effective locking devices for On-Track Safety Protection (protection for non-controlled track) while performing repairs on structures 1070 and 1071 at Waukesha.
